⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review for The Roasting Joint, Garstang
If you haven’t tried the Tandoori Chicken and Chips at The Roasting Joint in Garstang, you’re seriously missing out. This dish is an explosion of flavour from the very first bite. The chicken is perfectly cooked—juicy on the inside with a gorgeous char on the outside—and coated in a rich, deep red tandoori marinade that’s full of warm, sweet spice.
The balance is spot on: just enough heat to give it a kick, but rounded off with a subtle sweetness that makes it incredibly moreish. Paired with crispy, golden chips, it’s the kind of comfort food you dream about.
Friendly service, generous portions, and quality you can taste—The Roasting Joint really delivers. Highly recommend giving it a try if you’re in the area!

Ham salad sandwich was good. The small pots of crispy chilli chicken strips were delicious. They had three different curries on as well as pies, roast chickens, gammon joints, samosa. Cans of lemonade could be served much colder. Friendly service.

Well! this is a bit of a story so please bare with me!!
After meeting a random couple on our break in the Lake District, in a pub, as you do, they enlightened us on their business. the "Roasting Joint", they told us all about food, what they made, their menu, etc etc...
anyway, the bit that had me intrigued in the conversation was the "Lamb Doner Pie" that they freshly made, and I just though to myself I have to try one of these!!!
they passed on their address and details to us and at the end of our break it was on the way home to drop in and see for ourselves the food they were talking about.
firstly, what hits you is how clean the place is! that's a big plus for starters! secondly, the food looked amazing with the preparation and presentation was truly appetising!
we tried their 'Sweet Chilli Chicken' bites in a tub with a fork, and tasty doesn't really sum it up! it was gorgeous and morish! while we were eating these several customers bought these so its clearly a customers favourite!
Anyway this prompted us not just to buy a lamb doner pie, but TWELVE pies in total! from the said lamb doner, to chicken balti, steak and cheese and chicken and mushroom!!!
we've just had the first two, and OH MY GOD they are sooo good! pastry was crispy and fluffy with stacks of filling and flavour!
I really cannot recommend this place enough! seriously! do not hesitate to come here for any of your food! you will NOT be disappointed!!!

Had the most amazing Hunter's Chicken Sandwich from here today. Absolutely packed with the most amazing filling. It was that big, it took me 3 attempts to eat it all. Great value for money, friendly staff. If you are in the area, don't pass it by.

2nd visit here! Really great little place Very popular too. Very good service and great food The pie and take away breakfast are fantastic The giant egg custards are really unique! Definitely recommend a visit !
If you like pies and are in Garstang then The Roasting Joint is not to be missed. Definitely a place for the pie enthusiast. They also sell very tempting looking beef and chicken batons which would test any vegetarian commitment.

The atmosphere and service I recieved were absolutely brilliant, immediately welcomed by friendly staff this time I just had a coffee but it's probably one of, if not the best coffee In Garstang. Previously I've also had the sweet amd sour chicken which again was delicious. If ur a local u must already know about the 'Roasting Joint' but if ur just visiting then u haven't visited properly until you tried some food from here as its 'Grand as Owt' as we would say in Lancashire or just bloody great anywhere else!- Parking
- You can park on the street outside the shop as its just on the high street or pay very little for the car park run by the council which is about 2mins walk from. Shop
